Sender ID / Header Registration
Lock in the letter- and number-based headers that put your brand at the top of every message you send.
The Sender ID — also called a Mask or Header — is one of the pieces that matters most when you register on any operator's DLT platform.
Transactional and Service (Implicit/Explicit) traffic runs on alphabetic headers, while Promotional Sender IDs are numeric. Whichever the type, each one has to be registered on its own with every operator's DLT platform.
You will need a completed Principal Entity registration and the Entity ID it produces before any Sender ID can be registered with the operators.

Adding a Sender ID / Header on Vodafone-Idea
Each Principal Entity is required to lodge its headers with the access providers; the procedure below shows how.
- 1
Log in to the VILPower portal using your Telemarketer / Principal Entity credentials.
- 2
From the header page, select 'SMS Headers' and then 'Add Header'.
- 3
Supply the needed information — content category, the sender ID / header, and sender details.
- 4
Submit the request for approval and settle payment through any of the available modes.
- 5
The header registrar reviews and validates the details within 60 minutes.
- 6
On success, the registrar approves the requested sender ID and logs it on the DLT platform.
- 7
If anything fails or does not match, you are notified at your registered email and mobile within 72 hours.
Characters such as @, $, %, & and blank spaces are not permitted. In most cases an operator returns its verdict — approved or declined — within roughly 24–48 hours of submission.
